About Us...
Springfield House is a Community Centre in Stevenage Old Town.
You can find us on the road behind the bowling green where Stevenage's war memorial takes pride of place.
The centre is managed by Old Stevenage Community Association, OSCA, which is a registered charity(number 308003).
Springfield House is owned by Stevenage Borough Council having been bequeathed to the town in the 1970s.
Springfield House is a key building in the Old Town conservation area. It is a red brick two-storey house, full of the character that you would expect from a buliding of its age, with a large, well maintained and mature garden to the rear. An ideal place for a perfect Summer Wedding, Childrens Birthday Party, or a tea and cake afternoon!
Springfield House was originally privately-owned by the Inns family who left the house to the people of Stevenage. The Main Hall has timber floors, as have the Oak Lounge and Helen Inns' Room (the latter room is upstairs), all of which we are able to hire out at affordable prices.
Stevenage Arts Society occupies most of the Centre's upper level, while Stevenage Haven, which supports single homeless people, also has two administrative offices at Springfield House.
